valve cover leak question

    i got the new valve cover gaskets and was wondering, is the upper intake gasket 1 or 2 gaskets? b/c when i looked it up at rock auto, it shows the two types of gaskets.... do i need this type?

    or this type?? is there any other gasket i will need?? i'm trying to knock this out tomarrow since its going to be pretty outside tomarrow

    looks like the top gasket goes where the air intake come in at. all 6 pipes riding together the big silver part of the intake on top. the bottom gaskets look like they go under that intake but on top of the heads on each side. not 100% but 6 holes and then 3 and 3 thats the only thing i can come up with

    ohh i call the top gasket the plenum gasket... guess the technical name is upper intake.... so basically it should only take 1 gasket.?

    yeah plenum could not think of the name. I would assume thats all it would take maybe someone else will chime in with a more sure answer

    got the plenum gasket and 2 came in the box,,,not sure why but i'll see tomarrow.

    not sure there either

    just thought about this. doesnt the plenum come apart in 2 places?

    yes it does,,,i saw that when i started,,so far passenger side off and cleaned,,just looking for torque specs now..i have pics comming... alot of small connectors to unplug and plug back,,,slow process but worth it if you have the time.
