Automatic Swap to Manual

I was just wondering if anybody here has ever swaped out their transmissions? It is coming about that time where I will own my truck instead of the bank and I want to do something that is challenging, but if it is impossible then Ill just forget it.

It's not as simple as just popping out the auto unit and popping in a manual. How complicated it is depends on the specifics of the Tacoma ...

What are the specifics on yours?

it would be very difficult and you'd run in to a lot of problems along the way....

I'm just suscribing to this thread to see where it goes.

I didn't think it would be easy. Some cutting and replacing and messing with sensors etc. I went from Manual to Auto on a 62 chevy truck, but Im sure this is much different.
