So I am finally looking into getting an exhaust system. I am weighing out the pro's and cons of building it myself, or buying a bolt on. Im leaning on doing it myself to safe some coin, and going with the pro 40 series flowmaster, but I just don't know!
I found a similar post for the 2nd gen, but nothing for the best gen!! :D

Which muffler and/or system do you like/have???

    I'v got a Magnaflow 18" off-in/center-out w/ 2.25" custom stainless piping, side exit.

I think it sounds great when on the gas a bit, but a lil drony in lower RPMs. Still happy w/ my choice as its not too loud but adds a pretty decent tone.

    fwiw I'v got a '01 v6 DC

I have seen/heard both 14" and 18" Magnaflows and they work well.

I've got a Magnaflow center in/out welded into the stock exhaust. I'm happy with it.

I am also having an exhaust put on at the end of the month, I want it to be a nice deep rumble at idle and roar when I get on it. The muffler shop said I should do the magnaflow and that the flowmaster 40 will be to loud. As of now I'm leaning toward magnaflow. 3.4l.

    Newbie here:
I had a JBA system installed this past summer. no drone, quiet enuf so I don't have to yell, but 2K on the tach is the real sweet spot!

Ok I made a thread about a quiet but low exhaust thread and I ended up buying a magnaflow. I have two friends who put flowmasters Delta 40 one is a 2.7l other is a 3.4l, it has the most annoying drone ever at 2k rpms it loud and irritating for both trucks. I do not like loud trucks nor have I grew up around farm equipment. So i bought a magnaflow 4x9x18 muffler and its a tad louder than stock, no drone at all, and sounds good. Ill say this Fuck FM...........

I have a chokemaster 40, going to ditch it for a 14'' Magnaflow single in/single out soon.

But I have a 4 cylinder....but still.... Magnaflow>flowmaster....but I have heard that Borla's sound good on our trucks.
