not technically a first gen... but pretty fuckin sweet non the less !! saw this driving down the road today and stalked him in to the lowes parking lot

Sweet, I had a friend back in the day that had one set up just like that except he had Ground Hawgs. Same color and body style. He did put a 350 in it eventually.

 

yeah i think they were like 39 1/2"x18"s lol

 

The service writer at the shop I use has one just like it, but it's stock with 31's on it. He commutes home 200 miles every weekend and then back on Monday morning. Bench seat, no AC, top speed of 75MPH on flat ground, and it has over 500K on it. He says it needs a trans rebuild and he changed the rings and bearings at 300K without reboring the block.

 

i hope my 12 will last half that long! my 98 t100 has 160k and after driving my new taco a few weeks, the T feels like it has a 1,000,000 miles on it lol

 

Yeah, I'm hoping my 06 has that kind of longevity built into it too.

I passed this guy on my way home from Yellowstone. He was going the other way. It was 100 degrees outside, he was climbing a long hill with that 1980. He had two other guys in the cab with him. I'm blasting the AC with the cruise on, and here comes this crazy sucker. I have no idea how he does all those miles in that old worn out truck.
