Shift into drive/reverse from park but it stays in neutral

    When i bring it out of park, the shift lever moves but it doesnt shift. When i try putting it back into park it makes sound that seems like a combination of mechanical and grinding sounds and its not too loud. anyone have any idea whats going on?

    yea fluids fine, and theres no leaking and its only got 70k miles on it

    2.7L 3RZ,K&N filter, 4" deck plate mod,flowmaster 40 series,3" suspension lift, hybrid 52"chevy/toyota rear springs.
    sounds like transfer case is in Nuetral... allows the tranny to spin but truck goes no where
