has anyone had this problem...? i've checked the engine compartment fuse and all the under-dash fuses and the light bulb itself. they're all good but the dome light still doesnt work.

    what could it be?

    Thanks

Have you checked to see if there is power getting to the Light fixture itself? Put a meter on it and check. I assume yours is the same as mine where you have three different positions. One is always on. Two is on and off with the doors and Three is always off. Try all three positions when you check for voltage. It might be the switch that has the problem.

I am new to the forums so i hope someone else might be of more help... Those are just suggestions and ideas i have.

been to 6 junkyards...cant find a damn tail light socket. even the dealer cant get it, they say i hvae to order the whole tail light housing.
    going crazy.

i wonder if i can just stick a little piece of metal in there...something that will help the bulb make contact...i don't know. i'll probably blow myself up if i try it.

Light bar and bumper guard, 3/16 steel skid plates for engine, tranny and transfer box, OME 881 springs with 5100 shocks at mid clip. AAL in rear. Positraction rear diff.
I had a problem with my 04 and it was just dirty contacts on the switch. I worked the switch several times and it was OK.

I had problems with my dome light on one truck, and door locks on the other, I think they were the same problem. My door lock problem was inside the fuse box inside the cab. It is called a body ecu. It is a small 4" x 4" compter chip that is apparently only available with a wire harness. Just a cool $2600.00. Pocket change for you guys. Anyway, I was on the phone with the toyota parts dept. trying to find the right fuse box and noticed there were two pins on the computer board that did not look right. They were spread terminals. Just applied a little pressure with my pliers and presto!!!!![IMG] You should try going to your truck and tapping and wiggling around the fuse box under the dash and see if the light starts to work. I never fixed my dome light because every time it would stop working I would start to test the circuits and bingo, it would suddenly start working again. Later I bought the truck with the door lock problem. Its worth a shot, as far as I can remember the body ecu does control the dome light. If the wiggle test works, let me know and I will try to get a picture up here that better shows where the bad connection may be.
