Just wanted to reiterate something that has been said many times for these great trucks....how many miles does yours have?

My dad put on 320,000 miles between 1999-2010 on his 1999 4x4 i4 manual Tacoma. Other than oil, tires, filters and gas he replaced the exhaust manifold twice ($200/time). Original clutch and original breaks.

Still going strong with good fuel economy and ZERO oil burned between oil changes. Oil still comes out looking like melted butter.

23-24 highway mpg. Tough truck. Pretty sure 500,000 miles will be easy on this truck. It is the new standard by which I measure vehicles. My 175k 2004 F150 scares some of my friends but I think its just getting broken in.

I will be purchasing a 2012 in the next 6 months with the expectation that 300,000 miles without any major maintenance will be the low end of what I can get from it.

Mine currently has 170k and it's climbing :D. Not a single problem yet and I couldn't be happier. Super solid truck

I'm hoping to get at least another 10 years out of my 4Runner. It's only an 02 with 130,000 miles, but that's nothing. ;)

had my 96 with 123k for a month before had to change the starter:cool: and there are about 3 different noises it makes from the engine bay...but i could care less. there is a very, very, small list of realistic vehicles i would have in place of it.

'97 Tacoma SR5 155K, low miles! Been supercharged without any fueling update since 17K, so one could argue it has had a tougher life than most. Still runs strong, though!

99 SR5 3.4L. 2000011 miles and my wife wrecked it. Rebuilt it and now has 200175!! I guess you could call the rebuilding of the front end major maintenance?? More body and frame work than mechanical tho

My Cousin has 305,000 on his 97 SR5, was originally his father's, bought it in 99 with 15,000. Both are mechanics so you can bet that it was kept in pristine condition. My cousin's only wish is that it lasts till his son is old enough to drive, only ten more years to go :D

My 116k 02 seems so young in comparison.

'02 v6, solid as can be, doesn't burn any oil (changed every 5K), replaced a few items, water pump and timing belt (2x) 02 sensors, cats, shocks, plugs, air filters, tires and brakes......175K, and plenty more left in her! This little baby is bulletproof and a loyal, dependable, rock solid companion.
I would be hard pressed to think about replacing her, and even more hard pressed to think about buying something other than another Toyota (maybe a Tundra next time).
