Take them apart and do a BHLM to them. Pretty simple, looks different, and very cheap!

Here is how the look with just a standard BHLM

And if you want to get real crazy, do a retrofit conversion. I blacked the whole thing out with I did that.

from what i'm reading, seems like a BHLM would be too much trouble. the problem i'm having is the headlights looks so stained and foggy (not from moisture) that they are very dim at night. they could use a good cleaning (if thats possible). but i know a couple of people that used the headlight cleaning products from autostores with very poor results.

is there a good way to clean the lenses?

I actually have used a head-light restoring kit and had great results. It wasn't on my Tacoma, on my old car, but came out pretty good. I definitely didn't want to spend money on new lights for that car, so it was a perfect solution- came out pretty clear, and stayed that way until I got rid of the car.

Now on my Tacoma... since I care about it more, I'd probably just buy new headlights. The thing is, is that the headlight restoring kit makes them a lot better than the yellow-fogginess that they were, but they definitely don't look like new glass afterwards, just clearer... It'd say it's worth a try for 19.99$ before you go buy new headlights.

It really isn't as bad as it seems... me and my buddies have done several sets now (1st and 2nd gen) and it's the same concept... the part that seems to take the longest is painting... just take your time and do it right... multiple light coats so that it doesn't run... and also use an adhesion promoter.

the headlight restoration kits work great! just leave plenty to time to do it...

No need to buy new headlights if you are careful with sanding and polishing. And re-coat them.

Eh I bought a set of eagle eyes off eBay for less than $50 with bulbs. Mine had dirt and dust all on the inside of them.

I used a rain-x headlight restore kit a few weeks ago with pretty good results. The lights are brighter again and look almost new after the process. I'm going to re-do the buffing/clear part of the process to see if I can get them even clearer yet.
