What mods should be done???
Well i purchased my 04 tacoma the beginning of the summer. Since then i have done the gray wire mod and for some reason i took an exhaust from a 2007 tundra and made it fit my truck. Really i think that it sounds better then any FlowMaster and it looks so much better. Am working on the rear diff. mod but i can not find the fitting that screw down into the diff. If anyone has any idea on what size it is that would help. So any ideas on what i could do please advise.

go check out my build thread..........................i got my 04 at the beginning of the summer too. there should be some ideas in there for ya...............and the rear diff breather extension...........you need the union fitting from toyota for the diff. it costs about $10 maybe....and here is more info on it, and the part number is in the link also..........

Yeah it a V6. The thing with the exhaust is that instead of using the muffler with the tailpipe i found that the the post exhaust muffled the sound enough to give it the sound i was looking for without the rice burner sound. I found that the engine exhails a lot easier.

Well the thing with Scavenging is that the exhaust will have little to do with it. Well its more for the emissions part of the vehicle and is greatly effected by a Super/Turbo charger. So manly you can run a straight pipe and it will have little negative effect of the engines performance. And lucky for me a don't have emissions inspections where i live and if i did i would do it myself.. But thats besides the point. So a Scavenging problem will be the least of everyones problem.

I am not saying that its not important i am says that yes if not super/turbo it should be taken into consideration but if not super/turbo then nothing to worry about.. Gas prices are more to worry about then that.

Scavenging is the process of pull in unburned fuel vapor after the exhaust stroke by valve overlap on the intake stroke. So it kind of goes hand with the EGR valve but now a day that is controled by the ECU and if there is a problem then it will set the MIL on. So on a none NA engine scavenging really wont be a problem because the engine does not reach High RPM's fast enough. If it did there would probably be some floating valves witch is a bigger problem then you want. Now.... NA engine compress force and compress air at a higher rate then an NA engine does. So the fact of over lapping the exhaust valve is not needed do to the fact of the higher compression's. Im not sure if this helps any but it's pretty frickin close to what happens

As the piston moves up to evacuate the chamber of exhaust, the valve opens and the exhaust leaves the cylynder in a "pulse". This pulse, since it has mass, is pulling behind it a low pressure zone. This pulse moves down the exhaust as another exhaust valve is opening. As the other valve is opening, the exhaust gasses in its cylynder are now "Sucked" out of the chamber by the low pressure zone behind the first pulse. This cycle repeats. To add, when the exhaust is pulled from the cylynder, a "vaccume" is now formed in it, alowing the Air/fuel charge to be "pulled" into the cylynder. and on and on. With VVT this is kept pretty constant thru the rpm range. ANy changes in the exhaust system have an affect. Some better, many worse. Now, when turbo/supercharged, scavenging does not play as important of a role, as the air is forced into the combustionchamber, and the exhaust is "pushed" out of it, so in that case, a larger, free flowing exhaust would be benaficial.
