My truck is having problems starting sometimes (approx 50% of the time). I replaced the batter several weeks ago. But now when I turn the ignition it does absolutely nothing. Doesn't make any clicking sounds or anything. I think it's probably a bad connection or wire. Is there any way to determine which wire or connection it would be? I'd appreciate any suggestions or advice. Thanks.

I would start by cleaning the battery terminals, and connections.

I had a similar problem on my '99 last year after I replaced the battery. It was better for a few days then had to turn the key "just right" in order for it to start.

Turned out to be a bad starter and had to be replaced.

Hopefully yours is just a connection issue.

you can actually repair those by yourself pretty cheap. remove the starter and take the cap off the end of the solenoid there will be two copper contacts there, you used to be able to buy them at the dealer for less than $20 if i remember correctly. remove and replace, good to go! or make em out of a penny if you're really cheap.....

Had the truck for a couple weeks. now everytime I go to start it, it clicks and has a hard time turning over. Sometimes taking a while to finally get started. Only has 20k miles on it. Haven't paid for it yet. Should I take it back? Thanks

This is what I was thinking too. I've read quite a few threads on here where the 1st gens have starting problems due to a bad ground.

Sounds like the starter.. If is does nothing when turning the key, tap the starter at the same time as someone turns the key.
