Yes. ARB is the shit. Elite isn't a bad choice. I think I would have taken a long look at them too if they existed when I bought my ARB bar 3 years ago.

I might look into the Elite bumpers as well. I kind of like the front loops on the ARB though. Living in CO there are a lot of animals on the road and those may prevent some damage having that additional protection in the front!

Elite can add hoops if you want.

edit: (taken off Elites Group buy thread)

I was just looking through that thread. That is one really nice looking bumper! Guess I better start looking into what vehicle the bumper on my truck is made for so that I can sell that thing! I could probably get $500 for the one I have, that would pay for about half the cost of a nice Elite bumper!:D

2004 F-350...uh lots of motor work to go fast...er. Way to much to list. 2001: 3" leveling kit, ARB bumper, lightforce 240 blitz, 35" KM2s. SOLD 2008: OME 886s 90000 with dakars, LR UCAs, 5% tint, Satashi. SOLD 2015: Flooded and Gone
don't get me wrong, the elite bumpers are sick. but with the ARB bumper it has those 2 triangle supports in front of the grill that won't bend back if you hit something or somebody...if they did something to improve the grille tubing on the elite id buy one!! both great bumpers IMO i think the ARB will have less damage because of the 2 triangle things.

edit: these allow less damage because triangles are one of the strongest shapes...hence the reason most old fashioned and some new bridges are triangles bases bridges...so when you impact something these will not fold back as easily as the elite bumpers tubing will. I'm not saying elite isn't tough. I'm sure they are! but when it comes to building something for protecting the front of you truck or even the back (if you can incorporate the triangle some how) you would want to place triangles on top of the bumper like ARB has thus allowing more energy impact to be spread thru the wide base of the triangle...hope it makes sense. I'm 19 and trying to word it the best i can. sorry!!!

bumpers should be built behind geometry and not as much as the strongest material. Yes combining both will increase strength and also allow you to create your own weak points... look at it like being a linemen (i was one when i played in high school and weighing at 168 pounds) i took on our biggest linemen (300 pounds give or take) i had the better stance, and i also got lower than he did thus allowing me to out strengthen him. So like on the triangles it is slanted back and at the base of the triangle it has a "indent" in it so that if the force it greater than the material and geometric shape it will collapse under the pressure thus allowing less damage to frame (depending on what you hit and how hard you hit it). yes it will cause cosmetic damage but I'd rather than than a badass tacoma sitting on a tow truck completely totaled.

    thanks!

I can see how those help with impact resistance. But I think the hoop design on the Elite's would be sufficient in stopping just about anything you could hit.

But afterall, I bet Elite would be willing to fab up something similar to the ARB design if its crucial to you.
