Radiator hose leak and coolant exchange

My upper radiator hose is leaking coolant... Coolant is a rust color. I've never done this type of work but have plenty of time to handle this. All recommendations are welcome - how to, other parts to check, where to purchase parts / fluid, tools needed, etc.

Rust colored coolant isn't good.

 

Before you drain the coolant, run the engine until the engine gets warm enough for the thermostat to open, then drain the coolant. That way all the coolant will drain out. Replace the hose.
You may want to get a bottle of radiator flush and use it before you put in the new antifreeze. Make sure to follow the directions on the radiator flush.

Always look for leaks after working on the cooling system, and make sure to keep an eye on the temp gauge when doing the radiator flush.
