Check engine light just came on

Its 9pm and my light just came on...any idea where to start to find a code? It started the stall when I hit the gas pedal.

Get/borrow a code reader. That's all you can do right now.

Check for loose hose clamps and/or cracked or disconnected vacuum hoses. Check around EGR for burnt or pinched wiring.

Wait and see if the light comes back on so you can get a readout on which codes it`s gonna throw

No need to start changing parts when you`re not sure if they are bad
