Actually when I left class today I noticed a slight tick. Very slight though. But it was only at idle. Not when I was on the gas

Yeah...mine was 5x louder when on the throttle. Take off the mani heat shield and see if you can see any cracks just in case.

That isn't true unless the cat becomes totally blocked. (seriously doubt it)

If you are worried about getting checked, remove the cat, beat the guts out run a pipe through the cat. have it welded back on and get an 02 simulator. when you put the cat back on it is straight piped but concealed and no1 will ever know. it works :D

My cat was rear cat was stolen and I just welded a straight pipe in. I thought it would solve the problem, but I was wrong. My gas mileage was cut by a 1/4 and I lost all my low end power. It was also very loud. I took it to a shop to have it fixed. The replaced the o2 sensor and welded a walker cat in. 2 months later no problems. Sounds a lot better than stock. My power and gas mileage are back. 396.00 total.

Don't be too quick to condemn the cat, I had the p0420 code after buying gas at a couple different discount places and it disappeared after I went back to my regular station.

Got my Cat converter stolen out of my truck and the idiots cut it out so i cant just bolt a replacement on. My options are to put a straight pipe there instead of the Cat Conveter til i have time to actually put on one (Few Months) or try to do that now. Either way oll have to fab something up to work. Anyone running the pipe instead and have issues? Talked to people and they all said straight pipe and it wont harm the engine. Anyone with experience doing this?

I've heard it doesn't harm it. But I'm not sure I would chance it
