half shaft troubles

hey guy i have a 2004 tacoma trd off road, i put a toytech fully adjustable front coil overs on and on the rear i put on expedition all pro 3 inch lift springs on, my question is how can i reduce the angle on the half shafts? they are pretty steep and the only thing i can think of is lowering the front of the truck down. If i do that it would look stupid,any advice would be super help full!

Front diff drop can help a lot. How high do you have the coilovers cranked to, 3''?

 

i have the front diff drop installed and they are at like 2.5 inches trying to make it level to the back but the front is still lower trying to save half shafts

 

here is a pic of the half shafts, the top part tore off of the end cause i made a mistake and extended it too much with the boot slide mod. I am waitint for the about the rust, sorry guys ohio winters blow around here with all this salt! i will take care of in in spring.

The measurement from the top of the stock tire to the fender is 10 inches
the measurement from the center of the hub to the top of the fender is 24 inches.
I really think the easiest way to lower the half shaft angles is to switch the leaf springs to like an inch and a half lift spring.Any information on any other ways to lower the half shafts would be great!

 

Your only option is to lower the lift if they are bothering you. You may just have to deal with it and replace as they wear out. Thats just a part of the game.


Not to gloat, but this is a good reason why I LOVE having manual locking hubs....No matter how bad my CV angles are...I just unlock them and I dont have to worry

And I guess swapping to manual hubs is another option, so they dont turn all the time and only when you are locked in.

You will never be able to get the front level with the back if you have Expos they give over 4" of lift. To get them level you would have to swap them out and lower your coils like you said. Or put about 600 to 800lbs in your bed then you would be closer to level. I have the expos on my truck and I can put 1500 to 2000lbs od steel in my bed and still have the rear about an inch high.

 

and i assume those are like the fords? when u need 4x4 u get out and turn the hubs?

 

it looks like your inner boot tore away from the clamp? is it actually busted, or is there some kind of illusion going on here?
