Thanks! i used a harbour frieght 90 amp. wire welder. Only overloaded it a couple of times but all in all it worked pretty good. Have done a few things for the wife but some things i tell her that its not big enough to do that job;) so when deer season kicks back up this fall im in the market for a Miller:D
    Thanks alot!

LOL! I already had one of the teens at work back up and smash the rear taillight out of there car.. only scratched the paint and told her "Oh well
no harm done" at least not to mine:cool:

Have lots of other work to do on the truck, but been thinking about trying to build a bumper similar. Looked around at purchase and just too expensive for me on a budget. Looks like your tube design is strong while keeping weight down which is perfect. Lots of good ideas to look at and plan hmmmm

Looking to build something where the other guy mangles the crap out of the front of his car instead of my truck. Tired of people not being able to park here. Bought a replacement chrome bumper because the old one was bent beyond belief. Had it on about four months and some non parking idiot at Sams bent up one side of it for me. Seems like they can't tell or are too lazy to care, where the end of their newer domestic trucks are. So, they pull into a space until they hit the car in front and then back up.

I really don't do any wheeling so approach angle was not an issue, just wanted something that would withstand the idiots in parking lots and getting hit from behind. If you are wanting something stout and gonna worry about approach angle then 4x inovations sells a 1/2 bracket for 54.00 that is designed for tube and fits our mounting points. I was gonna buy the set but shipping was gonna be 39.00:eek:. So i got a pattern of the standard brackets and had a friend plasma cut them out. If i was to do it again i probably would go with the 4x plates as a starting point
