which tailgate lock is best?

will be installing bak flipbak tonneau in next 2 weeks...and want to lock it all down...

 

I have the Pop & Lock brand it and works good. Takes about 15 minutes to install. I paid around $30, comes with two keys, and the decal is removable so it looks OEM.

Cheap security, personally I don't see why everyone doesn't have a tailgate lock. These things can be removed in seconds and it's not like there is a whole bunch of 03' used silver tail gates floating around if I ever needed to buy one. Remember a thief 9 times out of 10 will go for something that is quick and easy. He's worried about getting knocked over the head so he's more than likely not gonna waste his time on something that has a lock, when he can go to to another truck in the next spot and get in and out quickly.

Are you aware how easy and quickly a bakflip can be broken into even if you have a tailgate lock? One coat hangar and a few seconds and your in. However, the tailgate lock will be a help to those that dont know how the bakflip works.

 

How much better is an undercover flex for security?

 

None. Basically, it is the exact same thing as a Bakflip F1.......just costs less.

the bakflip and locking gate will be enough to slow down the impatient vagrants that occupy the streets of sanfrancisco - i just need them to move on the BMW next to me for an ipad and northface jacket.

I have the Pop & Lock, and after a year the keyhole is corroded and no longer works. You probably won't have this problem in California but just FYI.

 

Wow well there's another sign of inflation for you. I bought mine about a year ago and they were all priced the same, around $30-$35 max. Now I look online and they are all $50 +.
