I have a 2004 single cab and I do not have an SR5(cloth seats, no tilt, no tach, no clock, manual windows and locks) but the guy before me said he removed TRD stickers. I do have skid plates on everything, front ifs trans diff for front ifs, gas tank etc. I have an aftermarket suspension so no billies but I have the 2.7l auto and I told him he was wrong about the TRD that someone must've put stickers on because I had no elocker. From all I read that was the major deciding factor. I would feel like a dick if I was wrong and that it was in fact a TRD since you're saying the 2.7 auto didn't have the locker. Are you all sure the 2.7 auto had no locker with the TRD package?

yea those are the blue shocks, right. The TRD package does not have skid plates as a option just whats listed below:

off-road tuned suspension with Billstein high-pressure gas shocks and progressive rate springs, P265/70R16 BF Goodrich tires on 16" 5-spoke alumium alloy wheel, locking rear differential, black fender flares and TRD graphics

"Billies" is Short for "Bilsteins" a German shock/strut company.

As for the skid plates, I don't know if they are different or not from non-TRD's but they are a PAIN IN THE RECTUM when doing an oil change... They are two piece, metal and to get them aligned when re-installing is an exercise in futility!!!

I think you are posting in the wrong section... This is for Gen 1's...

Driver you got that right.. pain in the ass. your better off just getting the filter from the drivers side wheel well.

The only Accessory SKID PLATE available was the alumium one that Toyota sold and it went towards the front of the truck. PT212-35040

The plates you are talking about are engine covers. they are to keep dirt and crap out of the engine compartment

    Too many to list.

Don't know that they are true skid plates, but there is some type of "plate" under the gas tank that offers more protection...

I changed the oil on a lift, I have a friend in Denver that has one in his house's shop.

It was still a FREACKING bear to remove, I mean once the engine cover was removed, but aligning those suckers took an act of Congress...

My '04 is a TRD 2.7l auto without a locker. There arent any auto 4cyl's with factory lockers and very very very few TRD manual 4cyl's with lockers. So yes, you can be a TRD 4cyl auto.

The only thing "TRD" left on my truck is the stickers on the bed. haha
TRD or not, the only thing that matters is a electric locker. Thats the item that cant be bought from the aftermarket and thats the item everyone really wants.
Everything else can be purchased aftermarket with better items, like suspension, skids, stickers, etc.
