Help: Advice on how to pry LCA by myself

Installing my Toytec coilover by myself and can't get the LCA pryed down enough to get lower shock bolt in.

Advice?

connect the shock to the LCA first then to the top

easy way to do it is to losen the cam bolt a little bit (mark the cams first so if they happen to move you can move it back). once the cam bolt is losened there should be more travel from the LCA downwards

 

Two cam bolts per LCA, with 2 position indicators each?

 

Loosened. I've just about pryed a mother freaking hernia out. Still not even close.

 

I used a floor jack under the LCA to get it back to the top mount

 

I just got best bite I've had all night and I'm no where near close. Are these compressed too much?

 

Tried that and nearly lost a finger. It's worth it, I'll give it another whirl.

 

undo the bottom two bolts holding LCA to spindle

 

10-freaking-4. I'm a big boy and couldn't believe I couldn't get this pryed.

 

Take the nut off the spindle on the upper control arm...pound on the control arm and spindle til the joint releases and you'll be able to get the lower control arm down far enough.

 

^ This is how I did mine as well. Just have to be careful so the jack doesn't come flying off!

 

One side done. I ended up risking my Mensa membership with the upside-down-bottle-jack-of-death method.
