How to remove ignition tumbler?

Hey all,

My friend has a 2000 tacoma and I'm going to replace his ignition tumbler for him.

The key wont even enter the tumbler unless you jiggle it in. And once it in you have to jiggle it more to get it passed ACC.

Is there a walkthrough for this? I know every car is different so I figured I'd check here for tips/tricks first.

Mark this is a common issue among Tacomas ,googling it up should yield answers. When this happened to me a local mobile locksmith charged me 20bucks to fix . He did it within 10mins .

 

Do i need to pull the tumbler before they can fox it

 

The locksmith threw out the old broken tumbler and just popped in a new one. Filed it down and that's it.Wish I had paid closer attention to how he was fixing it.Before this I had to move my steering wheel back and forth and battle with the key for 15mins ever time I wanted to start the truck.
