So the other day I went to start my truck and when I turned it over there was nothing. No clicking, no indicator lights, no door beeping, it wouldn't do anything when I turned it over. I then checked my batter and I know it isn't dead. It is Die hard premium that is less than a year old. So I got back in my truck and then it mysteriously fired when I tried again?? It hasn't done it since and I have probably fired it 10 or so more times. And then today it Happened again, I fucked around with the ignition and got it again.

    What is going on?

My truck is an automatic, v6, 2001.

Looking at it, and my ground is definetly a little loose. Gonna have to tighten her down.

Could be a lot of things. Check for tarnished crusty terminals (actually take them off and look sometimes they are hard to find). After checking electrical hookups for loose grounds or connections check starter. There are copper parts that can wear out and can become intermittent as they get close to failing. If you have power and it doesn't even try to start it can be the starter. Don't rule out the battery until you test it. Free at most parts houses. Good luck and don't just throw parts at it. I hope it's just a loose wire and an easy fix. If you can move the terminal clamp at all it's not tight enough.

This. And make sure they are clean beyond any doubt. Pull the cables and wire brush or sand the terminals and the battery posts.

My brother drove his truck home from work, walked inside, came out ten minutes later and his truck was DEAD. Just like you described. I walked out to his truck and put my voltmeter on the battery posts. 12.6V, fully charged. Then I put the meter probes on the battery cable ends. 0V. It happened in ten minutes time. No explanation. And the terminals looked clean and felt tight. Pulled the cable and sanded the contact surfaces and battery posts. Truck ran another 2 or 3 years with the same old battery in it, no more problems till he sold it. Weird.
