So my truck has been running terrible and I took it to be diagnosed and was told the timimg belt had jumped two teeth. They quoted me 900+ and I decided to just do the belt myself as I have done quite a few in the past. I followed the tutorial to a T and got it all back together and now it won't start. I don't know what it could be but I'm at a loss. Any ideas?

have you checked for spark/fuel? I know that seems wierd since you didn't mess with that stuff but still.

You positive you set the cam timing right? engine at TDC and lined up the tick marks on the cam gears with the lines on the belt?

on my previous truck (a different brand) it had two timing marks on the top pulley. make sure you are using the right one. I hope your valves are still in good shape.

It's a non iterference engine, no chance of damaging valves.

^^^ I was concerned about that so thanks for the clerification.

Yes I am 99.9% sure I set timing correctly, I used the FSM to verify. The cams have yellow on the marks on the cam gears and on the back plate to align them. On the crankshaft there is a dot on the gear and then a point on the block as shown in the FSM. I have no idea why it won;t start, kind of acting like it isn't getting gas.

Going back and looking at the tutorial I'm pretty sure I'm off on the timing. Looks like it's coming back apart.

Yep, lined up the wrong dot.. used the one on the front of the crank gear instead of the rear. Good news is it runs better than it ever has while I've owned it and it's done... How did you guys tighten your crank pulley bolt? What is the torque specs on it-I've heard conflicting things on that.

I used the crank pulley tool I made to torque it down. I don't remember the specs, sorry.
