    You'd be very sorry.

    I had one.
Broke a rocker stud on one valve and punched a pushrod through the rocker arm on another.
No reason for it... no other mechanical problems, I was cruising at about 45 and all of a sudden it started running like shit and I got a CEL.

The EFI system is an endless source of problems.

Sell it and get a different one. I would get financing from your bank or credit union. Do not use a dealer. They make money on that too.

That seems way too high of a price! I can't blue book it at the moment but I've seen '01's with the same mileage on craigslist go for much much less.

How much is wrong with your truck? I would rather fix it and then save for something else, if your tight on money I wouldn't do a motor swap with a motor made for another vehicle. I just did one of those myself and whatever you think you'll spend to get it on the road you should double that number and you'll be close to what you'll actually spend.

Is there a vehicle in your family you can borrow till you get your truck on the road? Good at throwing a wrench? Putting a stock motor back in wouldn't be a hard task if so.

    That's way high.

Granted, it's a bit apples and oranges, but I bought an '08 RC Base 5-lug 2.7 with 52k on it for $13.5 and I thought that was a hair high.
Checking KBB, the '01 Doublecab 4x4 LIMITED books at $13.9k dealer retail.

Ya... $13.8k is anywhere from $800 to $2000 high.

And I get pre-declined credit cards in the mail and did better than 4.5 with dealer financing.

Cash is king. Buy a cheap little driver, don't finance.

the truck didnt work out, the guy got real flaky wanted everything done on his terms even said if i was serious i would call into work. ive done some thinking and i am going to look hard at a car. i have a 16 mile comute to work which is not far but seems like it, i am keeping the yota to eventually fix back up. my interest rate was higher because i added life and disability on the loan. with my work schedule and bank schedule im almost forced to stay local any other good area for vehicles is a two hour drive one way. now i just have to find something reasonably priced with lower miles

well guys ive been putting this off now for about a week and i would like to start off by apologizing. the taco is gone :( i got about 5000 dollars for it based on the valu of the other vehicle. the perosn was asking 16000 for their 2007 impreza wrx i paid 11300 and my truck for it. im very sad i lost the truck but this car was a gem and i could not pass it up. i will get another taco as soon as this car is paid off.
