Should I take my lift off?

I have been on the site for about 6 months and I know that spacer lifts are bad. My truck had a 2" spacer lift on front and rear when i bought it. The suspension is really mushy, I can grab my front bumper and rock the whole truck with only one hand. If I take the lift off will my suspension be even worse because the springs have already been compressed? I am running 30" tires so clearance shouldn't be a problem.

I am putting a new motor in and I would like to improve my ride while I have it in my dad's shop. I will be putting on an OME lift with a new leaf pack sometime this summer when I get a few fire paychecks so this is a temporary measure.

If your planning on changing it soon why go thru the hassle?

Good point, but I have noticed some popping when hitting bumps while the wheels are turned and don't want to damage anything. I have heard that popping occurs a lot with spacer lifts and unless I try to do serious off-roading it should be fine. Is this true?

I don't have any history with spacers I've only ever had c/o. Maybe the issues will make you redo the suspension sooner? Lol :D
