Backspacing with 33x10.5x15???

I have been looking around and can not seem to find the info i need. Maybe I skipped over it but cant seem to find what i need. I went to summit racing and was going to purchase some new wheels. I am going to run the bfg at's 33x10.5x15 tires. The guy working told me i need atleast 6" of backspacing. Does this sound right i thought it would of been around 4" but yet again i dont know to much about it.

 

LOL, 6"? someone doesn't know what the BS measurement means.

Im running stock BS (4.5) with the 33x10.5x15 bfg at. they will only hit the frame at full lock if you are flexing while wheeling. i havent had them rub at all during street driving

 

I would go 4" or less. Less backspacing pushed the tires out away from the frame.

 

Thanks for the help i knew he was wrong im glad i didnt purchase the wheels he told me i needed, and for the type of wheels i was looking at the cragar soft 8s http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CRR-3975860/ but you might have changed my mind with the wheelers. Thanks for the help and ideas

 

Yeah, I'd go with the wheelers wheels. I was cheap and chose to paint my stock wheels and run spidertraxx wheel adapters instead lol
