mud flaps

do 1rst gens look better with mud flaps on? or off?


i had to take off the front mudd flaps because of tires. would that throw off the good looks of the truck if i left the rear flaps on? with no flaps on the front?

first time thread , any advise would be apreciat it

 

My truck has the rear-flaps intact, but the front flaps have been raised about halfway up from stock height. This helps to both keep "the look" and still offer some stone-chip protection, while letting the wheels clear.

I will say, however, that the incidence of stone chips in my paint below the doors is getting worse. Of course, I drive down dirt and gravel roads daily, and do not have the time or patience to drive slow

I think it looks good with them off, but Commiefornia law requires the rears, or so I've been told. I only have the rears. Previous owner removed the fronts for tire clearance.

i had to take the front ones off to clear my tires, got the back ones on still but they're not serving much purpose as my tires stick out about 2 or 3 inches past them They definitely look better without the flaps in my opinion

there is actually quite a few states that require them, and some run it together with any truck or trailer with duel wheels.

 

I like the looks of them off for stock-height trucks, but for lifted trucks I like the looks of on. Plus, I cant stand to sit there and watch my paint go away

 

I think you should leave them off and mail me the front drivers side one b/c mine disappeared this winter.

 

They look better off but the front tires throw alot of stones and dirt into the rocker panels and dirt under the doors.

i also like that rears state 4wd b/c it makes it easy to tell if a tacoma is a 4x4 or a prerunner after i passed it and looking at it in the rear view mirror.
