Hey David, going to tackle this very same project this week. I have read dozens of posts and looked up a bunch of stats on fluids. I have decided to use the following as a result of my research: Red Line MT-90 GL-4 in my 5-spd manual and transfer case. GL-5 can cause some premature wear on synchros due to sulfur content. Red Line 75-90W GL-5 in the front and rear diffs. I have a 2000 Tacoma, 2.7, 4x4 and purchased (4) of each MT-90 and 75-90W Gear Oil from Amazon...good pricing. That is a total of 8 quarts which should do all 4 units. I hopefully will get to it in the next few days. Oh, and finally go to the Toyota parts counter and get all new washers for the plugs too. You will need 8 total at about $10-12 for all of them. Take the fill plug out first so you know you can refill after draining.

1. Drive Train Fluids: Gear Oil API GL-4 or GL-5 (SAE 75W-90) - 7.6 total = 8 quarts
a. Change Transfer Case fluid (API GL-4 only 1.1 qt) Redline MT-90 (27 ft-lb)
i. NOTE: remove filler plug first on all units to make sure it can be filled back up!
b. Change Manual Transmission fluid (API GL-4 only 2.6 qt) Redline MT-90 (27 ft-lb)
c. Change Front Differential Fluid (1.2 qt) (36-39 ft-lb)
d. LAST - Change Rear Differential Fluid (2.7 qt) (36-39 ft-lb)

I have them ordered so if I need to I can put any left over GL-4 into the differentials, it won't hurt them but the other way could.

The type of oil is up to you and I have no experience with Mobil or Red Line but all the posts here and other places seem to favor the Red Line brand for Tacomas. There are probably as many opinions on this as there is for motor oil but stick to a popular brand and you will be OK.
