Bed extender question

Are bed extenders for every truck different or is it just the brackets?

The bed extender I have on my 03 Taco has adjustment within the center tubes. it could be used for different mid size models, just different end brackets.

 

^^THIS. I just bought a bed extender off a guy who had an '06 Tacoma. Before I actually got it I made sure the height and width fit good in my 1st Gen -- it did. And yes the middle tubes slide in/out of the outer tubes for width adjustment.

I just ordered these 2 parts yesterday. The L-bracket adapter drills onto the tailgate flange to allow for more surface area to mount the actual mounting bracket onto (1st Gen beds don't allow as much space to mount without the adapter). Good luck, OP
