I bought my '04 Tacoma a few weeks ago. My wife was out-of-town when the opportunity came up so I couldn't get her on the title (she had to be there to sign). ALSO, Florida makes you pay the full boat on registering the car but only until your next birthday. So I had to pay full price on the reg. but it's only good until August. AND they're going to charge $86.10 for me to get my wife on the title.

    fffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

WTF? That's stupid. I got screwed on mine too. Dumbass said my name was reversed in the system, I told her I knew that and not to worry about it cause it would change when I renewed. Well she changed it anyway and now I have to pay $90 in june to renew my tag for a month and then go back in july and pay $200+ for a year. WTF is wrong with these idiots? Mine had been like that for years but some dumbass has to go changing shit.

edit: They did only charge me $1.25 when I got the tag for the new truck and refunded me $10 of my old tag.

I've been there before. They might as well charge us a state tax and do away with all of this other B.S.! We F'ed up with our new majical govenor. I lost about five years of pay raises to that last property tax reduction crap and now everybody wants to claim were in a recession. I've been here all my life and it's time to move on. Looking at TN, AL and GA. Any opinions?

No, the $84 was to add my wife onto the title. I already registered it for the full fee that only lasted 3 months. I have to pay the registration again.

Washington is $55 a year for the truck, $15 a year for my 67 firebird, and about $10 per motorcycle. Damn, you cali and florida guys are getting shafted. Gotta say, I am glad I don't live in Cali anymore although I do miss PB in San Diego where I was born and raised.

agree 100%. I have always been offered to go to the following year on registration if it's close to my birthday but it has gotten ridiculous.

Thats because the assessed value of the jeep is about 3000 bucks or so. Check what they assessed the value at on the paper.

For me, Car was 425 (year), Truck is down to 290 bucks. AZ suks for registration fees.

EDIT: Your Jeep may have an assesed value closer to 2000 bucks, after I did the math.

yea thats what sucks. if you have a personalized tag.. alabama makes you pay an extra 50 bucks every year. plus the $200+ for registration. one day my 4runner will be cheaper cause i plan on keeping it forever
