I picked up a 03 Ext Cab v6 Taco. But the previous owner removed the tie down anchors in the corners. I tried looking in a junk yard and there wasn't a single taco to be found (good and bad). Any ideas where i can get some replacment ones? I have to move in a couple of months and need something to anchor my bike down to. Any help would be great. Thanks

The 2001-2004 Tacoma has anchors that are in the corners at the seam of the 4 corners with two screws each. Spoke to my local Taco dealership parts dept today what we are looking for is: Rope Hook Assembly Part no# 66312-35010 $9.66 each and the Screws par no# 90149-80034 $.70 cents each.

    Cheers

Anyone know what size these bolts are? I'd prefer running out to the local hardware store then paying an extra 9 bucks for shipping

here ya go...oh and btw I suggest toyotapartszone.com they seems to have the most reasonable prices and I know this forum trusts them...

    rings: 66312-35010 [order 4 (1 per corner)]
    bolts: 90149-80034 [order 8 (2 per ring)]

Another 1st gen owner here looking at tie down ideas. I resurrected this old thread partly to ask how the OEM rings' bolts are secured. Is there a stationary nut built into the bed for them, or a regular nut you can access somehow? I have my 4 top rings but like subtle shift mentioned above, am interested in adding 4 more at the bottom corners.

I'm also looking at some of the VersaTie track systems from Mac, http://www.macscustomtiedowns.com/category/VersaTieTrackKits, also their Anchor Plates, http://www.macscustomtiedowns.com/category/AnchorPlates and what seems to be a similar track setup from USA Cargo Control, http://www.uscargocontrol.com/Ratchet-Straps-Tie-Downs/Airline-Straps-Hardware

The benefits to track appear to be freedom from having to use different length strap and the ability to place secondary things in different spots in the bed, that is to say, tie down stuff individually. Because if you only have (let's say) 2 or 3 anchor points per side, now you're essentially tying all your gear together.

Not sure which way I'll go just yet.

The other curiosity is all the factory holes, facing inward in the bed rails every few inches. "Modern" bungees have plastic ends too big to fit in those. I suppose I could bolt a few D-rings in.

I went with the US cargo stuff.
I have the aircraft version in 4' lengths and have 6 Double D retainers.

    Good quality product.

Yes, uscargocontrol.com is a pretty good site for all things tie down related!! Pretty much anything you could think of! I really like those adjustable L-track tie down rails. Quite versatile I think.

Interesting ... I didn't see 4' lengths on their site, or kits like Mac's has. Maybe I'll contact them.

Hey, do you have a picture of your install?

Also, the site says the track holes are about every 4 inches. Did you measure or just eyeball it to avoid drilling into a crossmember below or whatever? (I'd read that elsewhere but it might have applied only to standard beds, not our short ones?) Thanks.

Are you installing into a short or long bed?

'04 Double Cab PreRunner SR5, so it's short bed.
    That 4' length looks perfect.

Before you do any drilling, I'll get you some measurements.
I ran into a couple snags due to the one of the cross members... gotta wait for the sun to come up.
I'll get some better pics too.

I appreciate it. But there's NO rush; I'm a good week away from buying anything.
