    no worries.

As far as the manual tranny goes, iv seen some newer tacomas that are DC and have the Manual Tranny. I'm not sure, but you may have to have it specially ordered that way or if it is offered off the lot :notsure:

Maybe someone else will chime in...

but i do know for sure that the 1st gen. tacos were never offered with a manual tranny.

You're not going to find too many side by side pictures, especially built similar because people build their rigs at different paces. Here is my friend's 1st dcsb, and my 2nd gen access cab [IMG]

As for the difference between access cab and xtra. Accesscabs are technically 2nd gen. The area right behind the door opens up also, allowing you easy access to the area behind the drivers seats. 1st gens do not do this.

I would test drive some 1st and 2nd gens, and make your decision based upon which you feel more comfortable in. A 2nd gen is many thousand more than a first. Buying one, spending thousands modding it, and not being happy with it in the end isn't worth making the girlfriend happy for now. She'll live with what ever YOU pay for, but you should be happy with what YOU pay for.
