What could this be? a leak or?

In my drivers side wheel, suspension and bearing area there's a lot of oil around. It doesn't seem to be leaking on the ground profusely but does anyone have any ideas of what could be causing this?

Looks like it is probably a boot issue. Look really close at the boot, rotate the assembly with the wheel jacked up and move the boot around by hand to see any cracks, tears or if the boot has "popped" as previously mentioned.

Only other thought is diff vents. You'd be able to smell that pretty obvious though.

took it to car wash and high pressure hosed off all oil/grease, not sure what it is yet.

going to take a look it later and post more pics after driving it.

Should i get this fixed right away? is it real bad to be driving with a bad cv joint?

Bad consequences?

hope it isnt to costly to fix I just finished putting a cat in it

Id go ahead and get it fixed. if you wait too long youll have to replace the whole half shaft. which isnt super expenisive if you know how to do it

is your oil filter on tight? the last picture you posted, looks to show a wet spot above the cv, leading me to believe its coming from a lose filter...

Agree, check oil filter. Mine had similair, turns out I dripped oil when swapping out filters.
