    4.88s,
1995 tacoma 2.7l with 35" tsl boggers 6" lift, I need the best advice on Regearing options, I think it has stock gears not sure but, the tranny is straining to pull the tires. I'm trying to decide whether to go to smaller tires and less lift or just re-gearing... help?

    4.88s,
Im on mobile as well and i cant find the chart, just wondering if the re-gear would keep the transmission from winding up and killing itself or will i still be in risk of killing the transmission with the new gears. I dont want to spend money on gears and it not help the transmission anyways. By the way my truck is an automatic as well.

Gears will change everything. What are you using the truck for?

I would run at least a 4.88, and maybe down to 5.29.

    you need 4.88 gears...

Look up username n0rth build - he's running huge tires with a 4 banger & that's what he's geared to.

Anything will be better than what you've got currently...
Like I said - read n0rth's build, he's got all kinds of helpful information in there.
I think he posted he got better than 21mpg's on his trip to Moab...
