Im looking at changing my flowmaster for a magnaflow but im confused as if these sound the same but are just different sizes (2.25" vs 2.5") or if they will sound different?

and theres like 10 other part numbers that ive looked at and im not sure what the difference is.

It means that the inlet and outlet of the muffler (the piping that connects to it and the piping on the other end) are both 2.5" and 2.25" as described for the other muffler. FYI, the stock piping on our Tacomas is 2.25".

That being said, both will work, but you will need adapters on each side of the muffler to fit 2.5" style if you're using the stock piping.

The 2.5" piping does give off a slightly deeper sound with a bit of low end loss, but the exhaust piping itself needs to be that size in order to achieve it. Just having the short 2" or so inlets and outlets of the muffler a slightly bigger size vs. 2.25" isn't going to have the effect, it's the piping that will.

Yeah i get that but i mean will these have different internals compared to the other magnaflows that look the same but have different part #'s? Are the different part #'s just because of the different pipe sizes? If im making any sense :goingcrazy: haha :p
