    This is probably the dumb but I am having a hard time finding the dipstick for the tranny on a 2004 taco 2wd w/ a 2.4l engine. thanks

    Don't know about the 1st gens, but the 2nd gens do not have a tranny dipstick. WTF Toyota!

    If I remember right its on the drivers side of the engine tucked down and back torwards the firewall. Its an orange sort of hangle iirc

    The manual transmissions have a dip stick? Wow, don't think I've ever seen a manual dip-stick, guess that would nicer than crawling underneath and doing it the messy way...also one more thing to go wrong though too...:(

    like the post said im retarded i must have clicked the wrong button setting up my account its an auto trans but in my defense the dipstick was pretty well hidden. I have no excuse for my account set up.:D I will try to get some picks later. thanks

    Like the dash clock!

    EDIT: a M/T has a check/fill hole that is just like your differential
