This might save somebody some time. The PN for the kit is 00500-35958. This includes the plastic mounting screws and the plastic cone-shaped bumpers that go on the outside front of the hood. The kit price is $14.98 from the dealer. Also, the hood support rod that pivots up to support the hood pivots on a white plastic thingy that hardens and breaks after awhile. The thingy is called a _grommet_, and the clamp that holds the rod in the down position is called a _clip_. The grommet price is $4.95. Don't know the part number offhand, or the price for the clip.

Can you provide a little more detail on what the "hood protector mount kit" is? Do you have a picture or drawing?

The hood protector (aka "bug shield", "rock deflecter", et al) is designed to protect the front edge of your hood. It is held in place with a series of plastic push-lock-type screws that tend to harden with age and break. The bumpers are little rubber tits about 1/2 inch tall that have sticky tape on their bottoms. You place these on the top of your hood just close enough to the underside of the protector to "touch it and then some". That keeps the shield from flapping around in the breeze. I'm getting the kit either tomorrow or after the 4th and I'll post a couple pix.

The attached instructions show what's included in the $14 kit.
