5125 or 5100?

Which ones rear shocks would you recommed me ?? My truck has the stock leafs. I have 5100 up front and love them. Would the 5125 be as smooth as the 5100 are up front??

 

the 5125s are for a lifted truck, so they would be too long for your stock leafs. just get rear 5100s

5125's are for lifted rear but I run them with my stock leaf with no problem. And no it was not to long it works just fine. But if you aren't lifting stick to 5100's.

 

I dnt plan on lifting my truck. Maybe in the future Ill be getting 5 pack wheelers leafs

 

oh, my bad, you can custom order the sizes and valving on 5125s so you get the right length if you are not lifted.

 

I ran the 8.6 travel 5125's on my stock leafs and when I ordered them Wheelers had it posted and also confirmed it was for 0-3" lift rear but like I said stick to the 5100's if you don't have a lift.

 

I ran 5125s on stock height and they worked great.

I love this common misconception....

5100's are generally referred to as the front adjustable shocks.
5100 series shocks includes 5100's, 5125's, 5150's (now discontinued), 5165's, etc..
If you are not talking about front adjustable 5100's, then don't call the shocks 5100's.

They make 8" and 8.5" travel 5125's for the rear of our trucks.

So, yes you can get them for stock height rear, and yes they will ride as smooth as the front 5100's you have.

 

I'll be putting new OME dakar leafs (3" lift) will the bilstein 5100's for the rear ride smooth and have good flex or do I have to go with 5125's?
any advice will help before I purchase the set up...

 

I Coulda sworn 5100's in the rear were good for 0-3" of lift.. but i guess not, i blew out one of my shocks... leaking oil... only had for like 5 months???

 

If you buy shocks with long travel you can bottom them out if you are still using stock bump stops with little or no lift. I confirmed this with the Wheeler's 5 leaf, but I use timbrens so not a problem. There's a thread where the guy from Downsouth talks about it too.
