I'm getting about 225 miles per fill up. I'm driving a mix between highway and city. Hows everyone else doing? I have a drop in K&N filter, change my oil regularly, good tire pressure. Wondering if something is wrong?

some of this, a little of that
lift, over sized tires, aggressive starts they all can affect your mileage.

if you are a 4x4, thats pretty normal.

If you are a prerunner.. you should get a little better.

Change your plugs, wires, fuel filter and trans fluid if you want.

Also regrease the entire drive line and check or change all diff fluids as well.

Have you changed your timing belt yet?

I get 225-275 per tank on average but I only use 15 out of my 18.5 gallons for that.

I am a 4x4 and drive it hard with larger tires.

do not know what your problem is==I always get at least 300 per tank.
ever replaced plugs and wires--do you get gasoline at the same place--every time?
More ethanol--less mileage. TRY REAL gas--see how much difference it makes.
Throw in a bottle of injector cleaner too..I have seen a dirty MAP sensor-will result in bad mileage too--

225 miles would be 15 MPG on an 18-gallon tank with 3 gallons left (roughly when the light comes on).

    I get 14-16 city, 21-22 highway, maybe 19-20 combo. Bone stock 2000 Tacoma 4x4 V-6 5-spd.

Right now my running mpg (last 10 fill ups) is 23 mpg

Ext cab, V6, 4x4, 5speed manual, stock everything

Drive lightly and try to maintain constant speed

I average about 225 a tank as well. I try to always fill up with with about a 1/4 th tank left till empty. That usually means im putting between 12-14 gallons of gas in. You can see what i'm averaging by my Fuelly. If I just get in and drive I get right at 18 mpg, if i'm conceous about it I can usually get in the 19mpg range. I'm driving a DC prerunner 265/75/16 tires no lift. Only mod is a K&N intake which based on old calculations hasn't affected my gas mileage at all.

Hell... if I'm right on track with my typical fuel efficiency, it reads 200 exactly at the half-tank mark.

I got the stock Denso plugs from the dealer and bought a set of NGK wires online. The reason for the latter is that

    1. It was the majority consensus on here on what to get

    2. They were on sale and got them for pretty cheap

I have done all the hi-pro mods for a life time, since I got this truck at a great price, I will be happy with showroom new.
yes use only NKG or Denso wires, and plugs, and change the plugs every 30,000 miles, at the max.
before I did a lot of reading on here I will admit that I listen to the guy at the parts counter about "their" wires, being the best, with a life time warranty, and they were about 55 dollars a set and in stock, he would have had to order the Denso, and I listen to him, and after 2 weeks I ordered a set of Denso online tried them out and took the others back to get my money back.

not trying to plug them but I am one happy customer with them, try out RockAuto, I have never been much on ordering things online, because if something is wrong I like a face to see my complaints but I have ordered 3 times and there service and PRICE cannot be beat.

I use them as well. Great resource. Good prices and service.

Once I ordered the wrong part (my fault). I emailed them about it, and they refunded the entire cost when returned it by mail.

I just filled up for the first time after new plugs, wires, MAF and TB cleaning.

    22.4

That's right on par for my truck. No increase at all. I think it has something to do with the fact that it's so much peppier now since I tightened up the throttle cable. So while my efficiency hasn't increased my performance has considerably.

    I'll take it.

So what are you in 5th the entire time?

Gettin 200 miles by half tank is NEVER going to happen for my truck no matter how I drive unless its with super low RPM's where it shouldnt be.
