    well, maybe not old

but heres the deal, got my 5100s about 40,000 miles ago and kept the stock TRD coils. if i get some eibachs now and replace them is there any harm with the age difference in the coils and the 5100s? they are starting to sag so I want to upgrade as well as get rid of my rear blocks and get a new leaf pack

been doing some research just want to confirm. the eibachs will provide more lift and better ride? also saw on toytec's website that for a little more i can turn my 5100s into coilovers since i already own the shocks

01 trd xtra cab btw with 148,xxx miles

Can't just make them adjustable really. Think you have to get new 5100s that have grooves cut in them for that.

The eibachs will work fine tho on the billies. Just set them at 0" and the coils them
Selves will provide 3"+ of lift. DO NOT PRECOMPRESS THEM. The CV won't beagle to take it.

toytec has a 5100 add-on kit, where it turns the shock into a coilover without having to buy new. but they are $400 plus eibachs

to reiterate, yeah, you'll be fine, i swapped my 881's for eibachs with about 12k on the 5100's.

    No biggie.

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
Why not replace them now since you need a spring compressor and alignment after? Knock out two birds with one stone. In the long run saving money.

Yep...since he has to use a spring compressor and get a alignment why not replace them now to avoid another alignment and spring compressor.

No spring compressor needed. I followed this vid, worked like a champ. Used the rental compressor to put my 881's on, but to take them off and put the Eibachs on, used this and it was so much easier. Just be safe, you can hurt yourself if you're careless.
