Got a 2001 Tacoma with a factory pop up sun roof. Anyone know where I can find the shade to it. Live in sunny FL, and it gets crazy hot in the cab. Thanks

As far as I can tell the factory part numbers are:

    63306-35050-B2 for charcoal
    and
    63306-35050-E0 for oak

Looked at an online factory parts dealer and price hovered around $300 for one (at least on that particular site. Might price 1stToyotaParts and see where they come out.

That would at least give you a new one.

Alternatively you are left with second hand and various conditions those might be in. Someone on the site might have one. Give the interior colour you are looking for and maybe someone will chime in on one they are not using for their build or off their parts truck.

There are also some salvage yards you can do an online search on. I've seen sites in general looking that you can input the piece you are looking for and it goes out to a network of salvage yards. If they have what you are looking for they post/contact you and let you know. Sorry don't have a site for you to do this as been a while since I looked at any. General search engine search for used Tacoma parts should bring them up.

I've not bought anything from this particular place, but they seem to specialize in Tacoma/4Runner trucks. Did contact them once via email, but they did not have what I was looking for. Took them a few days to respond to an email as I remember.
    http://www.yodajims.com/Yoda_Jims/Parts.html

Others may chime in if they've used them.

Last thought would be that I know it would be nice to have the full cover, but at the cost it appears a new one is around you might consider taking the glass out (CAREFULLY!), cleaning it well and then putting some window tint on it. You can get some pretty dark tint that would cut the heat and glare, still be able to see through it in the daylight etc. Just a thought and hope that helps.

    Cheers

When I bought my truck (I am the second owner) it didn't have one and the dealer said 'no problem, you can get one from the parts department'.

When I found out the price, I decided to just use limo tint and essentially black out the glass. It's not perfect, but it works pretty well and it was a lot cheaper than buying the factory shade.

If I could find a good used one cheap I would definitely buy one.

I'd cut out some flat plastic or maybe even some really thin wood and spray it with adhesive and lay some matching color interior cloth on it. Was going to do that for my Z-28 since the prices were too high for me.

What color is it? I think the available interior colors were gray, blue-gray (lunar mist?) and beige.

My truck's paint color is Lunar Mist, the interior is light gray. I took the sun shade out the day I got the truck in 2002, and it's been stored ever since. New condition for sure.

I have the blue-gray interior (moon list, lunar mist???). Gray doesn't match; I made that mistake with floor mats.

    Thanks though.

high_mileage: Do you still have the sunroof shade? Will you take 100 bucks plus shipping for it?

    Thanks

For the record.....the blue-grey color in the 98-00 model years is officially called "Moonmist" by Toyota. It is, in my humble opinion, the nicer of the greys in the 1st gens.

Just cut a piece of cardboard to fit and be done. That is what I did on my last truck. Cost was zero and my burning head thanked me.

I tinted mine with 95% uv tint then limo tint over that. Cuts the heat down to nothing.

Hi, I'm looking for a sunroof shade for my 2000 Tacoma SR5 V-6. It's a utility truck; so, it doesn't have to be OEM. I'm considering tint; but, I would prefer to have the option to filter out all light and heat. Any ideas? Thank you!

I had a car that when I got the windows tinted I had them put the darkest tint on the sun roof glass which all but filtered out the sun and 99% of the heat. Good tint will reduce the amount of light and heat making it more then livable with the shade open all the time. Best $10 spent on the car.
