LCE big brake kit

Anyone have this ? How has it performed ? Thanks .

Are you hauling/towing or lifted with large wheels and tires? Is that why you want a big brake kit? Just curious.

 

Tow boat over mountains of Ky. & Tenn.,truck is a stock 2002 SR5 V6 TRD Off Road with 98K and untouched brakes and it's time to replace the front ones, dealership just replaced ball joints under a recall and undercoated the truck they also inspected the truck and rated the rear brakes at 90%,which leads me to suspect that it's been awhile since they worked. That kit is not a true Big Brake Kit,it's a Tundra brake system that was on Tundra's until 2003,I think.Replacement cost for the Tacoma brakes or Tundra system is about the same.The Tundra system has bigger rotors,bigger calipers with 4 pistons that are also bigger than the two smaller pistons in the Tacoma calipers.The line and bracket kit from LCE makes this a "plug & play" replacement.

 

Might be cheaper to get the tundra parts used and then order the brake lines, your choice of rotors, etc.
Oh and you need at lest 16" rims to fit the tundra parts.

 

It would be. I don't mind paying extra for new parts as long as they do what they claim,I'm thinking Brembo solid rotors,Autozone's rebuilt calipers which have a lifetime warranty,with LCE's line & bracket kit with their Hawk LTS pads.As you can guess from my screen name I go places that drilled and slotted rotors shouldn't. Truck came off the showroom floor with BFG 265/70/16R RUGGED TRAIL T/A's.

 

Where are you getting the brembo rotors from?

 

Not sure, most online brake supply houses carry them and if you purchase so much shipping is free.
