    5100's with eibachs. And 255/85/16 km2s
Bilstein 5100s struts. They give 2.5 inches and then you can set those to zero and put the eibachs coils to give you 3inches

do a quick search to get days and days of reading. 5100's and an aal are a good choice.

I'm thinking of putting a small lift on while i wait for a solid axle swap. I'm gonna need to research this topic more. I'm not terribly knowledgeable of various IFS lifts.

Are front pucks and small rear blocks a bad idea?

In my 4runner, the shocks entirely limited the flex. Are 1st gen tacomas the same way?

I'm assuming you mean spacer when you say pucks. But the Tacoma has the coil over shock. Your best bet would be spend the 200 bucks on the bilsteins and set them at 2.5 inches. And then if you want more than that set the bilsteins at 0" setting and put eibachs on top. And blocks in my opinion aren't bad if it's a 1" but anything more than that I would stay away. Personally I won't put any blocks on my truck cause I've already got axle wrap now and I've heard blocks make it worse. Hope this helps
