i know that this question has been asked a million times. so sorry for the broken record effect. but what is the best lift kit for a 2003 tacoma xtra cab?
i want to run a 20 X 10 rim with a 33" or 35X12.5 tire. any help would be nice. thanks in advance.

Highcotton, I have a 2000 Tacoma Xtra Cab and i had a 3" body lift thinking that would be enough,But I ended up changing up to 16" tires from the factory 15". The only problems encountered with the lift was a pesky CEL due to the Gasoline vent pipe leakingand causing an emission error. The problem was corrected with a longer piece of hose and 2 clamps. Hope this was some help.

as long as you get the proper backspacing rim you should be able to get away with a 3" lift with 35's. that being said there are tons of options for lifts. whats your budget on lift? that might help

i dont realy have a budget, but i dont want to spend alot of money either. i want to stay between 3-5 inches of lift so i can still fit in the shop when i have to service the truck. wat are some of the prices for these kits? i want a good one but not cost a arm and a leg for it.

Start here. And if you go into deals and coupons you can get an discount from them. These guys rock and have an extremely high reputation for great service and great products. They have reasonable lifts. I ended up going Bilstein's all the way around and absolutely love it. Plus being a brother of the FD really helps your rep! If you have any questions feel free to ask.

now that we have that sorted out what would be some good rim choices to compliment the lift like i said before i want a 20x10 or 22x10 and a 33 or 35 inch tire

A 20 to 22 inch rim on a 33 inch tire?! If you want a 33 do a 18..only do a 20 with a 35 and thats pushing it...on a smaller truck like this that size rim really doesnt look good at all....

I have the same toytec lift and i am happy with the ride quality. For rims i wouldn't go with anything bigger than 17. My opinion more tire always looks better than more rim. I am currently rinning 265 75 16. Next time i will go to a 285 or "33". Good luck!

Yeah agree no brainer there! I actually have 33x12.50's on mine with 15 inch black stealies! I love the look in my opinion it gives it a more aggressive "get the fuck out of my way look!"

No rubbing even when I had the sock bumper. One time I noticed a rub because I was at full turn and went over a speed bump and I barely heard it.

I'm saving the money for it. My brother and I are going to start it shortly after this deployment. I will be doing an entire write up on it with tons of pics!

i know that not everybody likes more rim and less tire. and ive never liked that tiny rim big tire bogger look. here in eastern NC its more rim less tire which i like. i dont plan on off roading with it its entirely for looks.
