Installed rear view mirror w/lcd screen on my 08.

(sorry just saw I accidently posted it on the 1st Gen section haha. mods please move it to the 2nd Gen)
Since I haven't gotten a tailgate handle w/camera yet, just decided to install it for the auto-dimming function. It took me about hour and a half, because I didn't really know which pin/wire to tap into. There where about 10 pins/wire, so decided to tap into each one of them haha. blew a fuse in the process of doing that. haha but I eventually found it and bam it works. also you can see the finish install of the overhead temp/compass gauge. so happy with all this mods . sorry for the large and bright pics.

What are the two wire colors that are in the photo? Red and Black? What pin slots are you using also?

red and black 12gauge wires. used pins 7 and 9. I'm not sure if there's specific pins I have to use for the dimming function, but so far this install is still working for me. I'm about to install the tailgate w/camera, so we'll see how it goes.

 

Is this mirror the Toyota OEM part or one made by another? I am looking at different ones here on the forum and trying to get the right one for my 07 Tacoma.

yups there stock. got em from a wreck 2010. from what I've read they're made by Mito Corp and labeled as Gentex mirrors.
