I have done all the hi-pro mods for a life time, since I got this truck at a great price, I will be happy with showroom new.
sorry to hear about this, thats why I keep a Louisville Slugger handy, from the 60's, was used in a game.... anyway, for a replacement look up the magnaflow high flow cats... I put on a pair when I modified the exhaust on my 2000 gt, they worked great, no cel and lasted here for 6 years.....

Mine's been stolen once, truck right outside my window on the street while I was asleep, too. Unbolted, not sawed (thanks bro), they got several other Taco and 4Runners in a couple week run. Cops finally caught them (a few guys anyway) in the act.
I had a OEM one put on (not worth nearly as much on black market, not much platinum, etc.) and then my favorite shop welded a shim on at no charge. I think it was $350 out the door.
My fiance had her's stolen (96 4Runner) on a trip to Sac 4 years ago. She opted to have a Toyota replacement. $1600 for the part. 2 years later it was stolen again at the mall in SJ. Then she got the $100 OEM model. No problems since.

Same here^ Brother's girlfriends 96 4Runner converter was stolen the same way, but in the Hobby Lobby parking lot where she worked. Happened about 2 weeks ago. Read up a bit about these types of thefts and surprisingly they happen quite often. Im always cautious now everywhere I go. Parking as close to stores, resturants, and camera watched areas at work. Sorry to hear that. Not cheap to replace thats for sure. Well at least for me 100-350$ is alot! lol

A friend in VA suggested the metal pipe fix! Unfortunately, we have these pesky SMOG tests in CA :(

I'm sure they were not being "nice" by unbolting it. I think the noise of a saw at 3am would wake the whole neighborhood!....lol
