hey all you 98-00 owners! 2 things:

*post up any aftermarket headlights u have installed and whether u like them or not

*any one running 285/75 r16 without cuting fenders? im running 265/75 and i already had to cut and trim both front and rear... im thinking its just not happening with 285s without cuttin the whole damn fender bigger!? Peerly because i rubbed real bad with the 265s when i flexed her....

running 285/75/16 general grabber at2 on a raceline rock crusher wheel with no rub and no cutting, you just have to get a wheel with enough back spacing bro.

i feel like back spacing doesnt have anything to do with the rear rubbing? i had to trim the front of the rear wheel well and flatten down the pinch weld.....

this gives u an idea for the bacspacing i have already. pretty close to urs.... and and idea of how it flex's...

Maybe you have too much flex in the rear? Bigger bump stops?

The front should be easy to fix with bfh

I dig em. Got em off ebay so they were cheap enough to be replaceable should they take a shit, but it's been over 2 years and the only thing i have wrong with them is a little bit of flaking of the clear coat on the front. I keep em waxed and they havent yellowed in the hawaiian sun either..

without the projectors they don't have the greatest output though, the chrome of the housing itself liked to shoot random spots of light

I had minimal rub with 265's on oem BS'd wheels.
just the obligatory pinchweld adjustment and forward mudflap removal.

285's were a different story altogether
and required trimming and removal of some of the inner fender well plastic
as well some sheet metal from the fenders forward and trailing edges.

I also added a 1" BL to lessen the altercations required.

    gonna keep that ^
'cause I just installed 295's... and they need more room/adjustment

Those whom think that 285's fit fine...
either don't wheel them... or have their suspension excessively pre loaded
to to limit the compression(down travel) of the tires up into the wheel wells.
...Expect to do some altercations for a proper fitment/use with 285's.

Here's how to properly fit a over sized tire, up to 35"

I also have the ebay JDM type headlamps...
They do produce a few irregular, random spots of light...
But with my higher wattage bulbs... they're not terrible or bothersome.
I'm not sure what causes those irregular spots to occur...
But it would be nice to not have them.
Tho' I doubt I bother with a HID conversion to eliminate those.

    Here's my ebay headlights... link

Mine is not stock... the original is much smaller/lower.

Here's a pic of the original up against the replacement.

    APBmod14_fd92453885445e5909e14ea2b8fa2d42e0e07bdf.jpg

was altered... because the opening is too small for the lights I chose to use.
Or for any decent lights IMO
And also for the fact that I added a 1" BL

Here's a picture of the original configuration...
with some useless Hella 500 lights mounted.

^ you are correct... it is an early production bumper
in fact, mine was All-Pro's first attempt
at fitting these for the '98 - '00 models.

There is an install article w/pics on the AP website...
showing what modifications are required for fitment.

i can take pics if i need to but i have already wnet to town on the fender liner and what not. the pinch weld is no longer lol.... and no i wanna keep my flex cus its what gets me where im goin!

i completely agree with what ur sayin about most people who have 285s and say they dont rub dont wheel. i wheel alot, and flex alot... currently im doing everything everyone else is doing on 285s on my 265s without a problem... im just wondering how people fit these tires without completely remoulding the firewall/fender area?
