Oh, and one more important factor:

If properly applied with good mechanical adhesion, you can power wash the shit out of Raptor Liner and it won't chip, crack, break, etc...

What do you guys think about placing my old plastic bedliner over the Raptor Liner? I haul so much different stuff, including alot of scrap metal with very sharp edges and heavy sharp things, I was thinking it would help against dents and dings and the sharp metal scratching the liner off.

I did not. But it's on my list of things to do when I can spend money on the truck.

The lower weatherstripping on my topper's door was so worn out that the edge of the door scrapped away the paint on my tailgate... so I have to add that area to the project list as well.

Right on. Well if you end up doing it, be sure to post some pics! I want to do it myself but I don't like the idea of sanding down the factory paint. I can see myself messing up the prep and having it turn out crappy.

Thanks for the write up bud. Planing on doing the bed next weekend. Looking ahead at the temps it says it's going to be in the 50's here. Is that warm enough to cure?

Its super user friendly as long as u have a good air compressor. I used emory cloth to sand my rockers and flares and looking back i should have went a little coarser like maybe even 220 since its getting covered up anyway. The only issues with chips (other than heavy impacts in the bed which will happen with linex also) have been near the edges because i taped it off first then sanded i guess i didnt get close enough to the tape. I plan to do my whole truck one day. I would also recomend atleast 3 coats.

so what does the cost factor break down to figuring total for materials and tools vs something like rhino liner? what does it cost to do a full bed spray with this vs going have it done?

Last I checked $120 for the Raptor Liner kit will amply cover our beds.

Might want to check with someone who has actually done it in order to confirm. As for cost vs rhino liner, I have no idea. I don't know the cost of Rhino Liner.

I had my bed Line-X'd, professionally, back in 2000. Cost was around $450 for the bed +plus over the rails.

by the time you add the cost of buying a sprayer and buy, borrow, or rent a compressor then add in labor time. assuming the best, I figure its what, about $250 out of pocket to do it yourself plus your labor time? but that's still a decent savings if you have the ability to do the prep and do a good job of it.

it still costs about the same to have linex done today, roughly $425 for linex to do a over the rail bed and tailgate job now

The kit comes with the recommended sprayer. (post #14) You sure do have a hard time clicking on links I post  FYI it's on sale now for $109.

I have a compressor and my time is usually billed out at $0/hr anyway :notsure:
