rock slider noise

after install i noticed a noise, from research (dark can't see ) i think its due to me welding practically on the pinch weld on the rear...


how can i fix this

 

wait what? you welded on the pinch..in the rear? Pics? Are your sliders making noise or your body? What kind of noise?

 

Yeah...is the slider running your pinch weld? Or did you went it TO the pinch weld? It it's just running, bend it up a little.

this is my passenger rear, where i believe the noise is comming from.

if i go any farther forward with my sliders, my door hits the kick up

e/ ignore my shit welds, first time welding

now i wish i would have done some more search before being in such a huge rush to get these installed for this weekend.

 

k i am going to some how ignore the god awful welds and get back to that later. But the cab mounts are not pinch welded to the frame, they are weld welded. So i don't really see how welding the sliders to where you did would cause some sort of noise. More info on this noise? When does it happen? What does it sound like?


also, i don't know how much those welds will actually hold up. did you do them yourself, for your first time? with no experienced supervision?

 

I'll try to record the noise. It only happens when passenger side goes into a hole of some sort.


I was handed a welder and told go. I have put my entire body weight and another on the Sliders though and jumped up down no budge.

 

Im headinv out. camping tomorrow. i will use my new go pro to capture said noise.

looks like maybe that little gap in the weld might be tweaking when you hit a bump. Try filling the gap in.

 

that's upsetting. those welds are pretty bad man. I hope you got some decent penetration on at least half your blobs. 2 200lb men < 3300lb truck
