Alright, I recently replaced the ignition lock cylinder, but the alarm doesn't work nemore. If I have the driver's door open, the driver's door won't lock using the master switch. The locks will just pop right back up. This is normal right? Also, do your trucks chime when you have your driver door open? The person who owns the truck said it didn't used to do it.

I read in manual something about doing something with factory security before disconnecting ignition (or battery) IIRC

I wouldn't doubt it haha. I've been searching all morning for any leads as to why this is happening.

UPDATE: Erased all alarm codes from RS3000 ECU and tried to reprogram the alarm transmitter, but still doesn't work. The ecu DOES get the signal from the alarm remote, though. It chimes every time I program the remote. Also, the alarm does work normally (and only one time) if I leave the key in the on position after programming the remote, but it won't work if I try it again. This is giving me a headache.

Still haven't found anything regarding disabling security before doing work on the starting system.

The alarm will work with the lock cylinder removed. Either the shaft that the lock cylinder slides into is worn, or the ign. switch is worn, right?
