I have finally got a hold to a 2003 PreRunner SR5, I have been wanting one for ever. However, I have landed this baby on a sweet deal but it is by far a long ways away from perfect! 129k miles, 3.4 Auto. Here are some pics:

trying out some different spare rims...

Well as you guys can see it needs some work, was rolled on its side, but thankfully to roll bars and them doing their job, body damage isnt that bad.
Still it needs a lot of help!! And im a newbie to Taco's.... But not to working on my trucks!
Needs front driver fender, both tail lights, 3" body lift removed (in process), tag lights (where do you find those?), roof fixed, bed fixed, decent dent in cab, also the auto shifter isnt screwed down and it popped off and i tried to put it back on and now the tow/haul button wont work... Any advice?

Any advice on where to find some parts at a low price (strict budget) let me know, and any advice on where to start with this thing, Ill be sure to listen!! Would love to supercharge it or "tail pipe turboed". Let me know what you think!

I actually didn't pay anything for it. I traded a 97 z71 ext cab for it, was a good truck had high miles on body (297xxx) but it had a fresh rebuilt trans and crate motor with about 120k... Still I think I got the better deal, the body damage on the truck was never reported so it still has a clean title. The Taco also came with 2 12's and an amp, UWS tool box, CB and whip. I took the CB and whip off and trying to sell it to make some start up cash for it, also took out subs and amp for now.

    Thanks!!

Yeah, guy who had it before me thought bondo was the answer to everything.... What happened to the truck was that it slightly rolled but it had roll bars in it so that saved it but the roof did get a little banged up, looking for parts truck to cut roof out of and weld into mine then paint. I hate bondo with a passion.

Not totally sure on the parts you need, but Rockauto.com is a good place to start. Good prices on many repair items. You also get a discount.

When looking at parts you get the choice on many of quality. Pop them in your cart and have a look at shipping. Most items work out cheaper than buying local, but when I priced larger items (think it was a front bumper valance) they had a good price, but shipping zapped the deal. Got same part in that instance off of eBay without the huge ship cost.

If you are looking for gen OE new parts then 1stToyotaParts has done well for me. Cheaper than a lot of Toyota online parts I looked at and certainly cheaper than local here at least even with ship.

Anything you are specifically looking for that you don't mind used then the buy/sell section on this site is a good place to start. Post up what you need as you never know.
    cheers

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Start from the frame up. If the frame is no good, forget it. Good frame? [IMG]

Well looks like it needs some work for sure, but don't let that discourage you it has lots of potential especially with someone like you who appreciates these Toyota trucks. As for parts here are 4 hints to get great parts CHEAP and for a steal.

1.) Craigslist - Usually for your larger items, this is your best source. Things like wheels, hoods, tailgates, bed caps, bumpers etc. etc. Never pay the price you see, try and work out the deal as low as the seller will take based on the pictures and description, and if the item is worse than pictured when you show up bargain more.

2.) Rock Auto.com - GREAT prices for almost anything OEM, O2 sensors, engine replacement parts, etc. but like mentioned above make sure it's for small items.

3.) Advanceautoparts.com - AWESOME prices on the Holidays for specialized stuff. They run really good deals on days like Labor Day, Memorial Day, and especially Xmas. Can be anything from $20 off your purchase over $100, to 30% off, and I have seen as much and gotten as much as 45% off (below their cost) on the holidays using Coupon codes I found on the Internet.

4.) Tacoma World - Always good deals on parts most people just want out of their garage to buy had in the Buy and Sell section, just have to check it daily.

That's about it, good luck with your search and keep us updated with pics.

    Thanks guys!!!

Also there is no rust or any frame damage at all.

I have checked out rock auto and good prices, bad shipping. I also get a 20% discount from AutoZone so that helps.

I am also looking for used parts, so hmu if you have any!!

Thanks again for the support I'll hopefully be taking off body lift this afternoon.
